Inspired by the stately Chesterfield sofa, 60s designer Day took the comfort and visual impact of this classic piece, and created a minimal masterpiece that fits into any modern living room, workplace or studio space.
The Club 2-Seater Sofa is available in a number of different finishes and also as a brand-new ‘eco’ model – a version that uses recycled fabrics and has an even more minimal frame. All Day’s designs were created to be very hard-wearing and the Club 2-Seater Sofa is no exception. A sturdy solid-metal frame supports the light-weight but deeply upholstered seats, and every aspect of the stitching and finishing has been considered for maximum durability.

If you need a sofa that looks stylish, even when tucked into a corner or small space, choose the Day Club 2-Seater Sofa – a minimalist classic that was designed specifically to make the best use of awkward or slight spaces. Award-winning designer, Robin Day, believed that in the ‘small rooms’ of the 1960s, furniture should be created with space under and above it to create uncluttered living and workspaces. The Club suite meets this principle perfectly, helping even the smallest of rooms look less cluttered and put space to best use.
However, those with more spacious areas to furnish needn’t rule out the Club 2-Seater Sofa – it also looks amazing standing alone as a designer centre piece in any living room, reception area or workspace.
When the Club suite was designed in 1962, it was the world’s first cubic furniture suite and a testament to Day’s originality. As a post-war designer, Day grew up in an era that abhorred waste and this ‘eco’ principle is apparent in all his furniture designs, which use minimal materials and fittings to achieve sturdy, long-lasting results.
Now, nearly 50 years later, the innovative shapes of the Club range are still highly practical and attractive, and offer a cool, retro look for any environment.
