Famed architect Philip Johnson once stated: ‘I’m about four skyscrapers behind the times.’ He certainly wasn’t when it comes to this design gem. The Barcelona Bench was designed by German-American architect and designer, Mies van der Rohe, in 1930. It proudly sat in American architect, Philip Johnson’s, hallway before being presented as part of Mies van der Rohe’s Bachelor Pad range the following year.
The Barcelona Bench is made of exceedingly comfortable polyurethane foam, lavishly wrapped in leather squares and hand stitched to ensure the comfort and durability you would expect from such an esteemed designer. The shiny chrome plated legs give this must-have item the perfect finishing touch.
